Happiness is a state of mind. There is a phrase that says “choose ye this day whom ye will serve”. You have the freedom to choose happiness. This may seem extraordinary simple, and it is. Perhaps this is why people stumble on the way to happiness; they do not see the simplicity of the key to happiness. The great things of life are simple and dynamic. They produce happiness and positive energy.
There is one important point to remember about being happy. You must sincerely desire to be happy. There are people who have been depressed and unhappy for so long that if you suddenly make them happy by some good news ,they will not feel at home being happy. They like to stay in familiar depressed , unhappy state.
I knew a young woman who kept on criticizing about her bad relationships experiences. “All men are the same, i can never get a loving partner, I am sick and tired of all these relationships, I feel so miserable”. As a result of her condition, this young woman got lot of attention from her friends, also made lots of friends by showing off her misery. She really wanted this misery as she was enjoying it. On the level of her subconscious mind, She did not really want to be happy.
I suggested a curative remedy to her and told her that if she gave attention to these remedies, her mental attitude would undoubtedly change. Her faith and confidence would be restored to good relationship with men. She was not interested. Later,she suffered from an anxiety and depression. She enjoyed being miserable and sad, or at least she enjoyed the benefits her misery brought her.
Choose happiness. Why choose unhappiness ?
Many People choose unhappiness without realizing it. They do so by entertaining such ideas :
- Today is a Saturday; everything is going to go wrong.
- I am not going to succeed
- Everyone is against me in the office.
- I have a bad luck.
- He/she can,but I can’t.
- My work,Job, or business is bad, and it is getting worse.
If you have this attitude of mind ,the first thing in the morning, you will attract all these experience to you, and you will be very unhappy. Begin to realize that the world you live in is determined largely by what goes on in your mind.
“A man’s life is what his thoughts make of it”
“A man is what he thinks all day long” .
The thoughts you habitually entertain in your mind have the tendency to actualize themselves in physical conditions.
Make certain ,you do not indulge in negative thoughts, defeatist or unkind, depressing thoughts. Recall frequently to your mind that you can experience nothing outside your own mentality.
